Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 final

Asia cup: Pakistan’s team once again proved to be a failure in the big match and lost the final match of Asia Cup in front of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka had given a target of 171 runs to Pakistan.

Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup-2022 title by defeating Pakistan by 23 runs in a thrilling final match. Sri Lanka won sixth Asia Cup title. In this final match held in Dubai on Sunday, Sri Lanka scored 170 runs while batting first, in response Pakistan’s team was all out on 147. Pakistan’s batting was a complete flop here and every batsman showed a poor performance.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa was the main hero of Sri Lanka’s victory, who played a sensible innings and pulled the team out of trouble. At one point, Sri Lanka’s team had lost five wickets for 58 runs. Rajapaksa played an unbeaten 71 off 45 balls, after his innings only Sri Lanka’s team managed to score 170 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa shared a 58-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Wanindu Hasaranga. After this, he added an unbeaten 54 runs for the seventh wicket with Chamika Karunaratne. Hasaranga was dismissed for 36, while Karunaratne scored an unbeaten 14. Veteran spinner Wanindu Hasaranga took three wickets in the 17th over to spoil Pakistan’s hopes of victory.

28-year-old right-arm fast bowler Pramod Madushan took 4 wickets for 34 runs in his four overs spell. Pramod devastated Pakistan’s batting order by dismissing strong batsmen like Pakistani captain Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman and Iftikhar Ahmed.

Wanindu Hasaranga, after showing amazing in batting, also made a splash in the bowling. He took 3 wickets in his four over spell. Hasranga took all three wickets in his fourth and last over. He also ended Pakistan’s last hope by dismissing a big hitter like Asif Ali. Hasranga was the man of the series.

Fast bowler Chamika Karunaratne also scored an unbeaten half-century partnership with Bhanuka Rajapaksa. He took 2 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs. Karunaratna gave great success to his team by dismissing all-rounders like Mohammad Nawaz.

For Sri Lanka, facing political and economic instability, 11 of its players emerged as heroes on the cricket field, who won the title by defeating Pakistan (Sri Lanka beat Pakistan Final) and spread smiles on the faces of the countrymen.

In the final against Pakistan, Pathum Nisanka got out early, but he played an important role in taking the team to the final. Nisanka scored 173 runs in 6 matches of Asia Cup 2022. He scored two half-centuries during the Asia cup 2022.

Wicketkeeper Opar Kusal Mendis also could not play a big innings in the final but he scored 155 runs in 6 matches in this Asia Cup at a strike rate of more than 156.

Captain Dasun Shanaka also played an important role in taking the team to the final in the tournament. Shanaka scored 111 runs in 6 matches in which 45 runs were his best score.
