Masliya-Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme is one such scheme announced by the Government of Jharkhand, under which irrigation water will be supplied through an underground pipeline to the hilly and high altitude areas of Jharkhand. Under the scheme, work will be done to pipe irrigation water to 270 of Dumka.

Masliya-Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme has been announced to provide irrigation water through pipelines in hilly and high altitude areas of Jharkhand state.

This scheme will work to supply irrigation water through a pipeline to 276 villages of Dumka city of Jharkhand.

Masalia-Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme Features

Following are the features of Masalia-Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme:

  • Irrigation water will be supplied through pipeline to 276 villages of Dumka district in Jharkhand under Masalia-Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme.
  • A budget of ₹1204.37 crore has been finalized for the scheme.
  • Under the scheme, irrigation water will be supplied through pipeline for cultivation in such areas of Jharkhand which are at high altitude and hills.
  • Under the scheme, irrigation water will be provided in 276 villages i.e. 72 villages of Raniswar block and 204 villages of Masaliya block. In total, irrigation water will be provided by the government to 22,283 hectares of farms in those areas.
  • Masalia-Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme will be completed in 3 years.
  • The DPR of this scheme was surveyed by Mars Company and it was decided to execute the scheme on the basis of research and examination of the engineers present in the Water Resources Department on the DPR.
  • Under the Masalia-Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme, small pump houses will be built at 4 places.
  • After constructing the pump house, water from them will be sent to the adjacent fields for irrigation through lift process.
  • Under the scheme, a dam will be constructed on both sides of the river near Gurgaon.
  • Under the scheme, a barrage will also be built keeping the submerged area to a minimum.
  • Under the scheme, after lifting the water from the pump motor, it will be delivered to the areas through a pipeline and irrigation facilities will be given cycle wise.
  • If the demand for water in the fields will decrease due to excessive rainfall in an irrigated area, then at such a time all preparations are being made to fill that water to the nearby pond. With this, the villagers will be able to get water comfortably for their work or for cattle and there will be no shortage of water.
