After Ravindra Jadeja moved from the Chennai Super Kings to the Rajasthan Royals, the veteran all-rounder revealed that he has not yet had the opportunity to speak with MS Dhoni or any other CSK teammate after he left the franchise.
Who would have ever imagined that the Chennai Super Kings would release their ace spinner, Ravindra Jadeja? But they did, and the veteran all-rounder went to the Rajasthan Royals camp, the former franchise with whom he played his first season in the IPL.
Jadeja spent 13 seasons on the Chennai Super Kings team, and won three titles with them in 2018, 2021, and 2023. He represented the Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017, the two years when the CSK side was banned in the IPL.

New Team, New Look: Ravindra Jadeja announces his arrival for the Royals in some style
It was surreal to see Ravindra Jadeja play in the IPL for a team that isn’t wearing Yellow shirts. The feeling was never so odd when he played for the Rajasthan Royals in 2008-09 and the Kochi Tuskers in 2011.
This was the first time that he squared off against his former franchise, the Chennai Super Kings, which gave him the modern-day reputation of an excellent all-rounder. But again, this is the nature of the IPL: players jump from one ship to the other, and their loyalties are tested.
When Ravindra Jadeja took the field for the Rajasthan Royals at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati, he was seen in a new avatar. With a new look featuring a buzz haircut, Jadeja looked like a bison that ran through the CSK batting order through the middle overs.
Why has Jadeja not spoken to his former CSK teammates?
When Ravindra Jadeja was asked if he had spoken to anyone from his former CSK dugout after he got traded to the Royals, Jadeja said that he had not gotten the opportunity yet. The four-time IPL champion claimed that he wishes to have a word with the likes of MS Dhoni or Suresh Raina.
“I haven’t spoken to Mahi bhai. He keeps his phone off the entire time.” He added, “But whenever I meet him—and I’ll meet Raina bhai and Anil Kumble bhai as well—I will speak to all of you.”
The veteran spinner admitted that the transition is a tough phase for him, but he came to accept it as a part of the journey. Jadeja will be integrating with the new group, learning from them, and sharing his experience.
Ravindra Jadeja won the massive battle against Shivam Dube
As Jadeja featured in the opposite camp, he had a highly anticipated matchup against Shivam Dube, the proud Indian all-rounder. Shivam Dube has been part of the Indian T20 setup and has performed stunningly in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
A left-handed big-hitting slogger up against a left-arm orthodox spinner is a dreadful sight for the legendary Ravindra Jadeja. He dismissed Sarfaraz Khan in just his second delivery, and then came Shivam Dube onto the pitch.
Dube charged down from ball one and smashed a massive six off Jadeja. He then kept attacking his former teammate. In the third ball, Dube once again looked to clear the fence and was caught at long-off. Jadeja triumphed in the battle of the lefties.
