In the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no.8 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI), Jasprit Bumrah produced a beauty, but not with the ball; this time with a run-out. As the pacer during his own over made a direct-hit to dismiss Nitish Rana, who was miles behind the crease.
The dismissal occurred after Rana gently tapped a full delivery into the leg side, hoping for an easy single. However, his reluctance at the outset proved expensive. He was hesitant to get started and never quite achieved full speed while finishing the run, allowing an opportunity for Jasprit Bumrah to capitalise.

Jasprit Bumrah needs to shine against DC
Jasprit Bumrah comes in with excellent form after finishing the T20 World Cup as the leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets. Bumrah was wicketless in the first game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He was well handled by the KKR batters.
Bumrah has been one of the best bowlers in recent times, and he has been cotton wrapped by the India National Cricket Team. The speedster will look to grab his first wicket in IPL 2026, as a lot of the Mumbai Indians’ success this year will depend on his bowling.
MI posted a good total
DC won the toss and elected to field first. The Capitals came into the match with an unchanged XI from their win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). However, MI made three changes, among them one was a forced change, as their regular captain, Hardik Pandya, was not available due to illness, and Suryakumar Yadav led the charge for the franchise.
While batting first Mumbai Indians were reduced to 18/2 and Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav took charge and built a partnership of 53 runs for the third wicket for the five-time champions. The former was dismissed on the score of 35 runs.
SKY scored a brilliant fifty off 35 balls. Crucial contributions from Naman Dhir, Mitchell Santner, and Corbin Bosch helped MI to score 162/6 in their 20 overs. Now, DC are in good control despite two early wickets of KL Rahul and Nitish Rana. With 52/2 after 8 overs.
