Inside Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s celebrations after RCB’s historic WPL 2026 win

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) golden era just got brighter, and the celebrations beyond the field after a historic night in the Women’s Premier League 2026 (WPL 2026) Final once again proved how much the franchise matters for the Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli.

On Thursday, January 5, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru lifted the Women’s Premier League trophy for the second time after pulling off a thrilling six-wicket win over Delhi Capitals in a high-scoring WPL 2026 Final at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.

The charge was led by Captain Mandhana, who played one of the finest knocks in WPL history. The India Women’s vice-captain smashed 87 runs off just 41 balls and took complete control of the chase. At the other end, Georgia Voll also played a stunning knock of 79 runs during the successful chase.

Together, Voll and Mandhana stitched a record 165-run partnership for the second wicket to ensure the second WPL title for the RCB, leaving the Delhi Capitals far behind in the game.

RCB create history with rare double crown

This triumph is special for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB had already tasted WPL glory in 2024, and now they have done it again in 2026. More importantly, they have created history in Indian franchise cricket—both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

For the first time ever, a single team now holds both the men’s and women’s titles. After winning their maiden IPL crown last year under Rajat Patidar’s captaincy, RCB have now added the WPL trophy to their cabinet, completing a rare double.
