Avesh Khan had delivered the biggest breakthrough to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as the pacer dismissed the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen, thanks to a brilliant diving catch from Rishabh Pant in their IPL 2026 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday, April 5.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) suffered a shocking batting collapse as they lost both their dangerous openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, for just 8 runs, and then the skipper, Ishan Kishan, fell for just a single, followed by Liam Livingstone for just 14 runs.

Heinrich Klaasen falls to Avesh Khan-Rishabh Pant magic in IPL 2026 thriller
Heinrich Klaasen, who was batting aggressively, tried to play a reverse shot to a full delivery angling into the stumps against Avesh Khan. But the shot went wrong as the ball flew much finer than Heinrich Klaasen expected. And the Lucknow Super Giants wicketkeeper-batter Pant reacted instantly.
The LSG captain dived full stretch to his right and pulled off a clean catch, leaving the SRH camp and crowd shocked. Avesh celebrated with an aggressive send-off as SRH lost another set and dangerous batter after Nitish Kumar Reddy in the ongoing clash.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s dramatic innings vs LSG
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad had one of the most dramatic innings of this IPL season. They had a nightmare start after being asked to bat first in Hyderabad, but they made a brave comeback and then slipped again right at the end of their innings.

After all the ups and downs, SRH somehow managed to post 156 on the board against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Mohammed Shami struck twice with the new ball, removing Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head with clever slower balls. Soon after that, Prince Yadav produced a beautiful in-seamer to bowl out Ishan Kishan, and SRH were tottering at 11/3.
And then, Liam Livingstone couldn’t find his timing and eventually fell to Digvesh Rathi. But then came the only bright phase of the innings. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen joined hands, and SRH were back in control. But LSG made a strong comeback in the death overs.
Since the Hyderabad franchise managed a modest 156, the pressure has now shifted to their bowlers to defend this score against a confident LSG side as they are aiming for their first win in the ongoing IPL 2026 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
