The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has entered match week two of the 19th edition of the tournament. As on Saturday, the competition holds its first double header of the IPL 2026, with Delhi Capitals (DC) taking on Mumbai Indians (MI) in the first game, and the second match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals had a different start to their tournament. With GT starting their campaign with a loss against the Punjab Kings, and on the other hand, the Royals completely outplayed the Chennai Super Kings and won their first match by 8 wickets. The GT vs RR match is set to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans will be returning home for their first home game of GT vs RR on the weekend, as the Titans would like to bounce back after their tough loss against PBKS in their opening game. Rajasthan Royals have come with a new intent with a new captain, Riyan Parag, as he led the side well in the first game, with amazing bowling changes. The Royals pace duo of Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger created havoc against the CSK batters, and the Yellow Army were bowled out for below par 127 runs.
This fixture has given some amazing encounters in the recent past. The two sides last season met twice, with the Titans winning one and the other won by the Royals. In the last five matches between GT vs RR, three matches have been won by Shubman Gill’s side, and two have been won by the Pink Army.
The fans will arrive in large numbers for the GT vs RR fixture as it is a Saturday evening, and the first home game of the Titans. The Narendra Modi Stadium’s playing pitch has been said to provide a decent batting track for batters, with pitches that have a higher proportion of red soil than black soil, allowing them to play their shots.
