Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) started their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 campaign with a victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, a hilarious off-field moment grabbed attention as franchise entertainer Mr. Nags humorously trolled former skipper Virat Kohli during a recent team video.
The defending champions defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets in the series opener at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on March 28. They chased down a 202-run target in just 15.4 overs in front of their home crowd. Kohli smashed an unbeaten half-century in the victory during their first match.
Mr. Nags accused Royal Challengers Bengaluru of fielding five overseas players and joked that Kohli had attained overseas status. The video quickly went viral across social media platforms.

During the popular RCB Insider segment, Nags questioned Kohli about online rumours. He said that fans believe Royal Challengers Bengaluru broke IPL rules by playing five overseas players instead of the allowed four.
“There are many things that people say on social media about you. You know, people are saying RCB is playing five overseas players. I am not understanding what they are saying actually,” Nags asked.
“I don’t know, why are you asking me? Ask the overseas players, why are you asking me? I am not an overseas player,” Kohli replied.
